Narrative from Georgina Malmström
“We three went to stay at Caber for a while after uncle Fred had died. Aunt Mary had to hastily take over the running of the farm, sell and buy animals and fodder, and see that the farm labourers did their job. Remember that Fred and Mary had only been there for about a year before Fred had his heart attack.  Nearly all their neighbours and acquaintances said “Poor Miss Pollard,  she’ll have to sell up and move down south again”! This of course put her back up so she stayed on for several more years and made quite a tough name for herself up there.”
